Anything Goes has set sail in Melbourne, bringing a sassy blend of frivolity, slapstick humour and zingy dance numbers to the Princess Theatre until mid July.
Helpmann Award winning Dean Bryant and Andrew Hallsworth have brought to the stage a brand-new production of Cole Porter’s “delightful” and “de-lovely” musical.
Anything Goes is a madcap tale of topsy-turvy relationships, mistaken identities and foiled plots aboard the S.S. American, peppered with some of musical theatre’s most memorable musical numbers including You’re The Top, I Get A Kick Out Of You, and of course the title song, Anything Goes. Add to this some zingy dance numbers and toe-tapping tap dancing and you have yourself a fantastic and fun evening at the theatre.
“Expect your cheeks to hurt by the finale from all the smiling and laughing.”
The multi-talented cast includes the vivacious Caroline O’Connor and the hilarious Todd McKenney alongside a brilliant cast including Alex Rathgeber (The Phantom of the Opera – London, An Officer and a Gentleman), Claire Lyon (The Phantom of the Opera – World Tour, Love Never Dies), Wayne Scott Kermond (The Producers, Singin’ in the Rain), Carmen Duncan (A Country Practice, Winners & Losers), Debora Krizak (A Chorus Line, The Producers) , Gerry Connolly (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), Bartholomew John (South Pacific, An Officer and a Gentleman).
Do yourself a favour and book a berth aboard the S.S. American before it sets sail for Brisbane.
