Bloggers Guide to visiting Sydney

It’s time to round up my top places for inclusion to the bloggers guide to visiting Sydney. One of the most iconic places to visit in Australia, and a holiday destination I love!

Last weekend I headed up to Sydney, kicking off with a smooth flight from rainy Melbourne with Australian airline, Qantas. The flight was relaxing and exciting, as I anticipated my winter weekend escape to the vibrant and picturesque city, enjoyed with some inflight entertainment and a read of the latest Traveller Insider magazine.

WHERE TO STAY

After a smooth landing and a bus ride from the airport into Surry Hills, I checked into my accommodation – Rydges Sydney Central. The hotel is located around the corner from Central Station and is a short walk away from other well-know Sydney landmarks including Darling Harbour, Star City and China Town as well as prime shopping destinations like Oxford Street and World Square.

A big thank you to the lovely team at Rydges for hosting myself and fellow Bloggerati members. We were certainly made to feel right at home and were in prime-position to enjoy everything that Sydney has to offer to tourists.

TRAVEL IN STYLE

My new Samsonite Lite-Cube luggage made life super-easy for me during my commute. With an ergonomic handle and extra lightweight design, the cases took me from Melbourne to Sydney in style.

The Lite-Cube matte and Ivory Gold finish make for the perfect travel accessories for a weekend getaway.

WHERE TO CELEBRATE

On Friday evening we celebrated the launch of the new office space in Sydney for Nuffnang Australia. The event was held at the luxurious ECQ Bar at the Pullman Hotel, with over 100 guests gathering to commend the expansion of our blogging agency in Australia.

With stunning views of Circular Quay, the Overseas Passenger Terminal and Sydney Harbour Bridge, the bar is the perfect place to celebrate an occasion (or have a girls night).

WHERE TO HAVE LUNCH

Saturday started with a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel followed by my inaugural Uber ride to lunch at World Square. Lunch at Burger Project thanks to Qantas was amazzzzzzzzing! I’m a huge burger fan and the latest addition to the Rockpool Restaurant Group did not disappoint.

Inspired to take this great gourmet burger to the people, the team at Burger Project served us up a variety of their menu items including their namesake ‘Burger Project’ burger, cheeseburger, crispy hot wings and moreish hot chips. Whatever your pick, I recommend you wash it all down with either a chocolate thick shake or house made ice tea.

EXPERIENCE SYDNEY HARBOUR

With our jeans un-buttoned, the blogging team headed water side, to spend the afternoon sailing Sydney Harbour with East Sail. Sydney Harbour is one of the most iconic harbours of the world. With over 20 sailing yachts to select from, EastSail offers a variety of Beneteau, Dufour and Sydney yachts to make your Sydney Harbour sailing experience enjoyable and special.

On-board, we took in some of Sydney’s top attractions and despite some rain, the experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I cannot speak high enough of the sailing adventure… Put it on your bucket list!

WHERE TO HAVE DINNER

Dinner on Saturday night at Spice Temple. Head Chef Neil Perry greeted our group and he was only too happy to pose for photos with each of us (fan girl moment) in the bar, before seeing us through to our long, intimate and immaculately presented table.

The restaurant served us up a gourmet selection of Chinese fare and zodiac-themed cocktails in their chic, black-and-red surrounds. The service was some of the best I have ever experienced and the venue is certainly one to put on your must-eats list when visiting the vibrant bustling city of Sydney.

BLOG CONFERENCE

Sunday came around as quickly as expected and we met for the #BloggeratiSydney conference in the Macquarie Room at Pullman Quay Grand Sydney. The talent group was able to gather and discuss some very important secret bloggers business in comfortable and tech-savvy surrounds.

We were nourished with delicious eats and endless coffee to keep us going throughout the day. It was an absolute honour to brain storm with such a wonderful group of key Australian bloggers including Candice from Vintage Current, Debs from Learn with Play at Home, Kelly from Be a Fun Mum and Chris from The Life Creative.

THANK YOU

Before I finish, I’d love to also thank Felicity Grey and the amazing team at Nuffnang Australia, who continue to go above an beyond for Melbourne Girl.

Without their very valuable partnership, I wouldn’t be where I am today as a blogger, and I certainly wouldn’t be able to experience such wonderful getaways like this trip to Sydney… Thanks so much team!

A big thanks to our amazing sponsors Destination NSW, Qantas, Rydges Sydney Central and Spotlight.

This post is brought to you by Nuffnang and Destination NSW.
