Melbourne is famous for it’s Racing

Melbourne is famous for it’s racing – the sport and the style. As we welcome 2016 to our beautiful city, I’m excited to share the news that the next few months are set to be huge when it comes to serious trackside fun across some of my favourite racing venues in Victoria.

Get ready to roll out your picnic blanket, indulge in a gourmet hamper and share a unique Summer moment with family and friends at Relaxed Racing.

Relaxed Racing is a casual, fun and an entertaining way to enjoy the races over the summer and autumn seasons. The race meetings are both family-friendly and also a great place to hang out with friends.

Relaxed Racing 2016

THE FASHION

For the ladies, flowing dresses or chic pants or a jumpsuit, teamed with wedges or sandals are perfect. A visor or straw boater add some shade and a touch of style and sunglasses are a must-have accessory in sunny Melbourne.

For the gents, a tailored shirt matched with dress shorts or chinos are the way to go. Pair the look with loafers or boat shoes, and an on-trend straw fedora and throw in a linen blazer for cooler days.

For kids, it is all about being cool, comfortable and fresh. Boys can wear shorts or chinos with a short or long sleeved shirt and young girls will have fun in their favourite summer dress and floppy hat.

Please Note: The Relaxed Racing dress code does not apply for some members areas and corporate suites. Please check individual club websites to confirm dress regulations.

THE FOOD

There are a variety of dining packages available at each of the Relaxed Racing events. If you are heading to Caulfield, be sure to buy yourself a VIPicnic hamper, which includes a variety of starter, lunch and sweet bites to indulge in the sunshine on their new Summer Lawn area.

A highlight of the Super Saturday event is the Flemington Grazing Trail. Flemington’s front lawns and rose gardens will come alive with a selection of the very best boutique wineries, breweries and producers Victoria has to offer, as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.

THE FUN

It’s time to chill out and enjoy a great day out trackside with friends and family.

With loads of free entertainment for the kids across the events, you can kick back and relax on the lawn with a refreshing drink in hand.
