Celebrating Melbourne Women in Business

As a young business woman and busy mother, driving the success of my business as well as achieving a flexible life balance is of ultimate importance.

After reading Danielle Price’s story on how she founded She Will Shine, I wanted to share a small slice of her journey with all you other hard-working ladies, to trigger some inspiration and also introduce a great networking event which is coming up on July 21.

Hey Lady - You are Shining

The story began when Danielle left the corporate world in search of career flexibility. As a self-employed graphic designer who worked from home (a situation I can relate too), she found success, however isolation and disconnection from the outside world often crept to the surface.

Over time, Danielle developed the notion to create a place where women in business could genuinely connect on and offline in a personal and non-traditional way. Somewhere they felt truly comfortable, where they could be themselves, where their dreams were believed in and where they would be supported to achieve more and truly shine.

It was her passion project “on the side” of her proper business. Hmmm… five years and one defunct design business later, She Will Shine was born and the evolution began. In June 2014, Danielle opened a physical space… A village HQ in Melbourne. Since its opening coworking and boardroom hire were introduced and we became the very first permanent all-female coworking space in Melbourne… How did I not know about this already? Team Melbourne Girl must try it out ASAP!

Getting back to the wonderful event which is happening on Thursday 21 July…

Melbourne female entrepreneurs will share the secrets of their success with a room of Melbourne women who are creating, building and growing their own businesses. The evening will feature key note speakers Marnie Goding, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Elk Accessories and Monique Milenkovic, Founder of The Cupcake Queens.

These informal opportunities are even more important for time-poor female business owners, who are often juggling their business journey with family commitments ~ Danielle Price
