Spring Racing staycation at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

It doesn’t take much to convince me to enjoy a staycation in Melbourne – especially when the invite came from the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and involved one of my favourite race days of the year!

My husband and I headed in to the Sofitel to enjoy the ultimate night of decadence, experiencing drinks in the Atrium Bar and then enjoy dinner in the clouds at No35 restaurant.

The Sofitel Melbourne on Collins is the perfect hotel to stay at if you’re in town for Spring Racing, or if you’re a local and just wanting to treat yourself to the ultimate in Racing decadence!

The hotel tells me that the luxury suites are always in high demand during racing season, with an influx of A-listers and celebrities staying at this iconic five star hotel.

For those looking for an exclusive experience, Club Sofitel Lounge is a discreet retreat only accessible to those staying in a Luxury King Club room or a suite.

With nightly cocktails and canapés, guests can enjoy the Lounge’s panoramic views of Melbourne’s city skyline over a cheeky drink (or two).

To top off our luxe stay at the Sofitel, we spent the morning having a delish buffet breakfast before heading in to one of my favourite race days of the year – Sofitel Girls Day Out at Flemington for the Hats and High Tea luncheon.

Jointly catered by Peter Rowland and Sofitel, the lunch was the perfect way to spend the day in style. A delicious buffet lunch, finished off with a decadent dessert buffet by Sofitel’s master pastry chefs. Yum!
