Food Trucks pop up on Collins Street

Everybody loves a pop-up, especially when the pop-up provides trendy food in a prestigious location. The vibrant Food Truck Park has parked itself in Melbourne’s premier Collins Street to deliver gourmet bites to the Paris end of town.

For a limited time, the pop-up hub will operate for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering a rotation of culinary truck delights from Monday to Friday. This cool space not only offers a fun array for food options, you can have a hit of Ping-Pong too to give you that energy burst to get you through the rest of the day.

BURGER

On the launch day the food truck options included Greek St Food, Real Burgers, Bites on Wheels with their delicious Zapiekanka, Lukumades with their mouth-watering Greek donuts, Grace Fitzroy and Senor Churro with their famous Churros and Chorizos.

I was on the lookout for the healthier options, of which there were a few. The Greek St Food truck offered several salads and Real Burgers had a mushroom burger which took my fancy. The burger was delicious and a great healthy option.

Of course, I had to treat myself to a sweet treat. I couldn’t bring myself to eat a whole plate of the amazingly delicious looking Lukumades, with flavours like Oreo Balls featuring white chocolate, cookies and cream ice cream with crushed Oreo’s or the All Timer original with warmed honey and lashings of cinnamon, so I headed to Grace Fitzroy.

Grace had a varied array of amazing baked treats, including options that were vegan, gluten free and nut free. I couldn’t resist the scrumptious Carrot Cake topped with a mountain of cream cheese frosting and the Chocolate Zucchini cake topped with chocolate icing and delectable chop chips.  While these weren’t the healthiest sweet treats, they did have vege’s in them at least!

If you are looking for an interesting meal on Collins Street, head to the Food Truck Park pop-up before it disappears.

Enjoy!
