Melbourne Fitness and Wellbeing

I want to take a moment to introduce one of our wonderful writers, Pia Therese, who is founder of Melbourne Fitness and Wellbeing. If you’re a Melbourne Girl and are looking to get into shape, eat better, or even just feel all that better for being alive, you need to read about what she does.

I sat down with Pia to wrap up the essence of her business… Bootcamp and the Melbourne Foodie Guide.

Bootcamp

Melbourne Fitness and Wellbeing is home to all-female bootcamps; where girls just want to have fun… and feel the burn, all at the same time! We are not your typical bootcamp where you crawl around on the grass, (as we provide you with a mat), or where the trainers scream endlessly attempting to motivate you, as we prefer cranking Kanye and Beyonce for motivation!.

We are a group of girls who don’t exactly love getting up at the crack of dawn, but are totally glad we did, especially after we’ve finished one of our signature HIIT workouts or boxing sweat sess. Each session is different, so you will never get bored doing group training with us! Within our 45 minute highly-energised sessions, we do a variety of workouts that help target those common concern areas such as your abs, butt and thighs.

Where and when?

You can find us outdoors frolicking in the grass during the warmer months, or hidden upstairs in a private studio overlooking the city skyline, in the cooler months. Either way, you’ll be able to find us at the beautiful Fawkner Park, South Yarra; Monday to Friday 6:15 am, Monday and Wednesday 6:45 pm and Saturday mornings from 9 am.

Class sizes

Our classes consist of approximately 6 to 12 girls who vary in all levels of fitness and abilities. Some of our girls have never done bootcamp, or any type of fitness class before. Others have an extensive background in fitness and could even claim they are ‘love you longtime bootcampers’.

Most are mute in the initial wee hours of the morning, still waking from their slumber, but the energy provided by our enthusiastic trainers is enough to make everyone buzzing within the first few minutes of our workouts. MFW is a non-threatening environment as we are all here to each other up and support one another. So if you are looking for an environment where our girls get their guns out when the suns out, unfortunately you won’t find it here…

Benefits

There are so many benefits to our bootcamps, we don’t know where to begin!

1. We not only give you a reason to put on your stylish active wear, but we give you a damn good reason to wash it!

2. After a stressful day in the office, we provide you with find an excuse to leave work early… ‘sorry boss, gotta get to bootcamp!’

3. We are even willing to help you get you out of awkward conversations… ‘I’d really love to go on a date with you but…. I have to go to bootcamp’

… Oh and we also help improve your fitness, body composition, overall health and wellbeing. We will even throw in a guarantee and promise to eradicate any bad mood you may be in by, making you sweat so much, you will have completely forgotten who made you angry in the first place!

Yes! Alwasy need more reasons to join a bootcamp – I have found they are really good to establish a fitness routine if you are coming back to it from an extended break. Getting the discipline is something that you can learn like anything else!
    Thank you
