The ultimate Summer weekend in Melbourne

View from Adina Apartment Hotel Melbourne

I was so lucky to enjoy the ultimate Summer weekend in Melbourne this week! There’s so much happening this season, it’s almost like the holidays were a lifetime ago… And I love the fast-paced, action-packed vibes!

The team at Adina Apartment Hotel Melbourne invited me for a night’s stay in one of their gorgeous, refurbished apartments. Located in Queen Street, Adina Apartments were the perfect base for experiencing the city and everything it has on offer. It’s one of Melbourne’s most stylish city addresses, with 11 new penthouse apartments, a revamped rooftop-view pool and entertaining terrace, and sophisticated new décor in all of its apartments.

Each of Adina Melbourne’s 155 studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments feature beautiful new furniture, fittings and bathrooms. The hotel is the ideal place to stay if you want the luxury of having your own home away from home – great for girls weekends, romantic escapes or a special getaway for you and your family –  thanks to it’s superb location and spacious rooms.

The swimming pool area has a new entertainment terrace, with outdoor furniture providing plenty of comfortable spots to take in Melbourne’s city skyline. The fact Melbourne’s laneways, best restaurants, cafes and theatres sit just outside the front door, make it THE PLACE TO STAY in the city.

After ordering a tasty dips platter (and cheeky glass of champers) from the downstairs Queen Street Rescue Restaurant Bar, we jumped into an Uber and headed to the Regent Theatre to enjoy Priscilla Musical… And WOW, what a show!

Priscilla The Musical - Now Playing in Melbourne

We arrived to an overflowing Regent Theatre in Collins Street (the ride was quick and easy, and cost around $7). I had pre-purchased tickets for my Mum and I in Row R of the Stalls ($124 per ticket). To be honest, our views were 50% obstructed by everyone sitting in front, so I’d highly recommend you buy as close to the stage as possible, or in the front rows in the upper circle if you are looking into purchasing tickets of your own. It was such a shame to be dodging heads to see the stage in entirety, because the show was incredible!

Based on the Oscar-winning film, Priscilla is the hilarious adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus bound for Alice Springs to put on the show of a lifetime. Their epic journey is a heart-warming story of self-discovery, sassiness and acceptance.

The musical has endless glitter and glam, award-winning costumes and a non-stop parade of dance-floor classics including I Will Survive, It’s Raining Men and I Love The Nightlife. You’ll be singing along with the cast in no time!

After the Theatre, we walked over the bridge to Southbank, watched the beautiful sunset and enjoyed a quiet meal and some drinks over looking the Yarra River. Click here to discover some of our favourite places to eat and drink in Melbourne.

The nights sleep at Adina Melbourne was a dream. King bed anyone!!! We enjoyed a lovely sleep-in and also breakfast in bed (I ordered us some UberEats) and a cuppa overlooking the beautiful city skyline. It’s a real eye-opener seeing so many historical buildings from above, just a small slice of Melbourne’s rich history and culture (which I adore).

After an easy check out, we walked down to Flinders Street and jumped on a free tram to Melbourne Park for the Australian Open, a tennis tournament held annually over the last fortnight of January. We were invited to enjoy the Grand Slam action by Emirates, and had such a wonderful day.

The Emirates Hospitality Suite was just gorgeous, an interior lovers haven, and we were perfectly hosted to enjoy some drinks and meals, as well as all the centre court action, including Roger Federer, who clinched victory over his opponent to move into the Quarter Finals.

Hopefully you caught my Instagram post and stories of the day? You can also stay up to date by following the #EmiratesReturn hashtag on social media.
