Mr. Miyagi Japanese in Chapel Street

Mr. Miyagi has perfected the balance of a kitchzy vibe, great service and an eclectic menu that offers a mix of traditional and fun Japanese food.

The great atmosphere is apparent from the minute you walk through the door, and the place seems to be constantly buzzing.

RICE ON FACE

The menu offers enough variety to please everyone. I would recommend sharing some dishes because there is so much to try. I sampled the Wafu salad, Japanese eggplant rice paper roll, nori taco, tuna tataki pizza, chicken and buckwheat noodles, tempura broccoli, the famous Miyagi fried chicken and Mr. M’s donuts.

The Miyagi fried chicken (a.k.a MFC) was hands down my favourite. (There is a reason why this dish has become famous throughout Melbourne.) The flavours and textures in every meal were perfectly balanced, and delicious enough to make your taste buds tingle. For example, I’ve never tried deep fried broccoli sprinkled with cheese, but I’d sure love to go back to get some more!

Mr Miyagi - Chapel Street

This is a restaurant that offers good quality dining in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Is it slightly cliched? Yes, but that just adds to the fun!

Mr. Miyagi is located at 99 Chapel St, Windsor and is open for dinner Tuesday to Sunday.
