We love the new Eastland

The new Eastland has arrived and the team at Melbourne Girl are seriously excited! In case you hadn’t heard, Eastland is currently undergoing a massive redevelopment. We first introduced you to the exciting changes 14 months ago, with the transformation now in full progress and I’m thrilled to announce that the first stage has officially opened.

It is an evolving urban community, which brings together the finest in contemporary gastronomy, fashion, style and design – and we cannot wait to start spending our days enjoying its brand new surrounds.

The internal and external architecture developments initiate the seamless integration of art, culture, learning and events into the community, generating spaces for innovation, ideas, relaxation and play. The evolving Eastland looks sensational!

Some of Australia’s most-loved home, stationery and children’s retailers have also arrived at the new Eastland. The gorgeous new stores include T2, kikki k and Cotton On Kids (opening soon).

In the lifestyle genre, you can say hello to some of my favourite beauty giants including Mecca Cosmetica, Mecca Maxima and Mac.

Eastland is set to become a culinary hotspot with the launch of its new outdoor space – Town Square.

The space forms a vibrant cornerstone of the new Eastland and aims to provide captivating sensory experiences through a melting pot of food and retail adventures, which is set to reflect Melbourne’s unique food culture and harness the abundance of local provenance of the Eastern suburbs.

Delicious eateries including Jimmy Grants Deluxe, Pacos Tacos and Huxtaburger has all opened to the public and other must-try destinations include Hunter & Barrel, Casa Mia by Mario Di Nardo and fish and burger bar Hunky Dory. I’d also recommend AngAng by Chinta Ria Soul for the best Curry Laksa in Melbourne’s East – yum!

I’m super-excited for the arrival of The Cellar Door – a rooftop garden and bar serving all things Yarra Valley. It’s the perfect place to gather with friends and catch up over delicious local eats and drinks. I headed there on Friday night and the whole place was buzzing with good vibes.
