Sunset Cinema Melbourne

Sunset Cinema has just come to Melbourne and it’s a ‘must do’ this summer season. Popping up at Gasworks Arts Park, Albert Park, the outdoor cinema has an impressive film set with Captain Fantastic, The Secret Life of Pets and Masterminds being just a few titles you can catch whilst its in town.

The set up is pretty simple but offers everything you need for a good night out; a fully stocked drinks and snack bar, a food truck pumping out dinner orders and enough beanbags to fit you and 50 of your closest mates.

The program is packed with new releases, thrillers, adventure and family flicks and screenings kick off at last light – which is usually around 8.15pm – so it’s perfect for the whole damn family.

How to get the most out of your Sunset Cinema experience

Make a meal of it – enjoy the rotating food trucks on offer or even better, get organised and pack your own picnic. Wanting to create some serious food envy? Think gooey cheese platters, fresh summer salads, BBQ meats and homemade rocky road.

Treat yourself – opt for Lawn Lounge and enjoy a premium spot in the park with your very own inflatable lounger or beanbag. Tickets are slightly pricier ($40pp) but it means you won’t need to get there right on opening or worry about a giant sitting in front of you.

Get social – get your friends together for an alternate night out or good old-fashioned catch up. The Groupies Pass admits four ($55) and will immediately solve your woes about what to do tonight.
