Top 5 picks – Summer of Sound in Ballarat

1 – SUMMER MUSIC NIGHTS

The Pierce Brothers, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Cat Empire and Xavier Rudd are just some of the acts set to take the stage. Plus, you’ll be able to see them perform in Ballarat’s historic buildings or the stunning lake and gardens precinct. Great music in a beautiful setting – sounds pretty fab to us!

2 – 3350 STREET PARTY

The Yacht Club DJs are headlining one hell of a street party in December. Set in one of Ballarat’s more elusive streets, this party will have you raving the night away.

3 – BALLARAT BEER FESTIVAL

One of the best regional beer events, the 2017 Ballarat Beer Fest features more than 100 craft beer stalls and food trucks to keep you fuelled all day. And then there’s the music – Dallas Crane, Davey Lane, Blues Brothers, The Houndlings and loads more. There’s a summer day well spent.

4 – LIVE MUSIC VENUES

Ballarat is home to some pretty swell music venues including the likes of Karova Lounge, Suttons House of Music and Valerie’s Bar. So on your ventures west, make sure to suss out a gig at one of these venues.

5 – FESTIVALS GALORE

Summer is all about festivals, and there’s a whole lot to hit up this season including Summer Sundays, the Australian Jazz Convention and the Ballarat Beat Rockabilly Festival – if 50s vintage is your thang!
