Girls and Boys are bringing Vegan dessert to the Fitzroy yard

Just because Melbourne is heading into winter doesn’t mean it’s time to say goodbye to ice cream!

If you’re a bit nostalgic for Mr Whippy like us, then Girls and Boys has got you covered (especially if you’re vegan) with their recently opened dessert bar on Fitzroy’s Brunswick Street.

The new takeaway venue is dedicated to all things indulgent and healthy, with a big nod to plant-based treats and sweets. Specialising in vegan soft ice cream and gelato, the menu also includes cakes, smoothies, thick shakes, spiced mylks and specialty lattes. In the ‘pick up’ fridge you can grab to go cold pressed juices, smoothies, tonics, breakfast bowls, as well as a daily selection of salads and specials.

This dessert bar creation is from the good folks at Transformer Fitzroy and the iconic Vegie Bar, and they’ve  opened with a menu that’s loaded with gluten free and refined sugar free options.

The name is a tribute to the old ol’days of growing up to the sound of the Mr Whippy Van winding its way down the street and Girls and Boys honors the excitement of these memories.

Their soft serves are 100% plant based, made with Coconut milk and organic brown rice syrup. They are nut free and gluten free so they’re good for you and the planet.

You’ll find gelato flavours such as caramel and miso, blood organge and Yuzu, chocolate and hazelnut and more.

Girls and Boys
super good vegan vibes is now open at 382 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy from 11am – late.
