Inner-city escape to The Jazz Corner Hotel

Winter staycation at The Jazz Corner Hotel

Keen to do something a bit different this winter? We were treated to a night out at one of Melbourne’s hippest (and coolest) new hotels, The Jazz Corner Hotel and it certainly struck all the right chords.

Located at 352 William St (just a short stroll from Flagstaff station) this Jazz themed hotel is the perfect spot for a weekend staycation in the heart of the city. Our overnight at The Jazz Corner was the perfect inner-city escape to completely relax in apartment style accommodation and be oh-so-close to everything.

The Jazz Corner Hotel

The Jazz Corner Hotel offers 3 different room types and each include all the amenities you’d expect in a boutique apartment style property with plenty of artwork paying homage to, of course, jazz music. You’ll even find quirky little music-themed touches right down to the saxophone shaped ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign.

And if you’re a Jazz lover, the very best bit is that it’s located just above Melbourne’s Bird’s Basement, the world-renowned jazz venue associated with Birdland in New York. Just duck down the appropriately named Singers lane behind the Hotel and you’ll spot it. Bookings at Bird’s Basement can also be made with dining packages so you can make a night of it.

Bedroom comforts at The Jazz Corner Hotel

The Jazz Corner also offers drinks and dining options at their restaurant Sky Bird and Beer Wine and Calzone, located on the bottom floor.

It’s super comfy, the balcony views of either the city or Flagstaff gardens are pretty amazing and a stay also includes a fully-equipped kitchen, in-room washer/dryers, TV’s loaded up with Foxtel channels and free WiFi for those guests keen on staying a little bit longer.

Our recommendation?

Book yourself in for a date night, arrive with a bottle of red for the fridge, head to Bird’s Basement for dinner, drinks and some seriously talented live music before head back to your room to enjoy the balcony views and a glass or two in the comfy surrounds of your room. Have a sleep in and enjoy breaky the next morning at Sky Bird before a day of fun in the city.
