Top 6 Breakfast Spots in the Mornington Peninsula

Top 6 Breakfast Spots in the Mornington Peninsula

If you love the coastal life in Melbourne, then the Mornington Peninsula is the place for you. Well known for its beautiful beaches and national parks, the Peninsula is also home to a fantastic line up of eateries and local producers, which makes it the ideal location to enjoy an all-day breakfast with your crew.

The Shire is made up of so many beautiful towns including Blairgowrie, Cape Schanck, Dromana, Mornington, Mount Eliza, Point Leo, Portsea, Red Hill and Sorrento, so this is just the start of our morning eats round-up… Stay tuned to Melbourne Girl for more insider secrets to come!

Merchant & Maker

675 Point Nepean Rd,
McCrae VIC 3938

Merchant & Maker is one of my favourite spots to grab breakfast on the Peninsula. Tucked away in sleepy McCrae, this award-winning cafe serves up incredible coffee and has a delicious, innovative menu (I can never say no to the bacon and egg roll #fitspo).

And parents, you’ll love the hefty colouring-in books and crayons, and handy high-chairs make it super kid-friendly too!

Commonfolk Coffee

16 Progress St,
Mornington VIC 3931

Hidden away inside a semi-industrial estate in Mornington, Commonfolk Coffee is a must-visit when you’re in the Peninsula. Step through the metal roller door and you’ll find yourself in a coffee wonderland! Seriously good coffee is roasted on-site, and is paired with an equally great menu (try the ‘House Deposit’ avocado dish… LOL).

The Holy Bean

1489 Point Nepean Rd,
Rosebud VIC 3939

Design lovers will be in heaven at this uber-cool spot just outside of Rosebud. The art deco exterior and the incredible artwork inside are complemented by a range of coffee blends, including offerings from Dukes Coffee and Uncle Joe’s.

Captains of Rye

2285 Point Nepean Rd,
Rye VIC 3941

You can’t miss Captains of Rye as you drive along Point Nepean Rd – the incredible street art adorning the outside wall will definitely catch your attention! We love the retro, beachy vibe inside along with the strong, expertly-made coffee. The cafe sprawls along two shop fronts, and has a delish menu along with one of the best cake cabinets in Victoria!

Gracefield

2253 Point Nepean Rd,
Rye VIC 3941

Gracefield is a gorgeous, breezy spot situated opposite the beach in Rye, and is the home of one of my favourite menu items on the Peninsula – the Superfood Omelette! The cute games and book area is the perfect spot to enjoy a breakfast while your little ones create and play too.

Buckley’s Chance

1/174 Ocean Beach Rd,
Sorrento VIC 3943

Buckley’s Chance is a Sorrento institution, and for good reason – the booth style seating out the back is perfect for big groups, and the delish menu is accompanied by an equally cracking kids menu.
