Guide to brunch in Melbourne

Social addicts guide to brunch in Melbourne - MELBOURNE GIRL

Round up your squad, because you are going to want to brunch everyday for the rest of your life, with our ultimate list of places to brunch in Melbourne, for social addicts like us who like to capture the perfect insta-worthy photo (or 50), before we tuck in!

Tuesday for the Melbourne Girl team usually involves a quick cafe catch-up, to chat about what we got up to on the weekend; what we are drinking, eating and trying not to eat; television shows we’re watching; books we are reading; podcasts we are listening too; family and friends; how many hours sleep we had the night before; blah, blah, blah; and the Kardashians, although not always in any coherent order, LOL.

Today’s meeting place was one of our favourites, Kitty Burns, tucked neatly into the inner courtyard of Acacia Place in Abbotsford. The restaurant played host for our final pull together of this list.

Brunch in Melbourne

After ordering one of everything on the menu (food and bevvies that is), we sat around the chic plywood table enjoying some laughs and our second (cough-cough OK third) coffee for the morning. We love catching up because not only can we discuss the latest Instagram update and how the hell to put a location marker on your story (me asking Prue anyway), it’s also time for a complete wrap up of what events we need to be at in Melbourne for the week and to plan our blog schedule of course.

So without any further delay, who’d like to know which brunch destinations make our list?

Higher Ground - Melbourne Australia

Higher Ground

Higher Ground describe themselves as not quite a cafe, not quite a restaurant… But there is one word to describe their space, and that is GORGEOUS!

Tucked neatly into the corner of Little Bourke and Spencer Streets, they serve up innovative fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as wonderful coffee and a wine list which will have you settled in for a long session with your squad, whatever time of the day (although we highly recommend brunch).

A tip if you’re planning to make a visit, be prepared to wait for a table, because there is high demand for a coveted table, especially on the weekend! When I dropped in for a takeaway coffee last time, waits were up to an hour and a half… But I promise you, it’s worth it!

Their interiors are off the chart and the wall mural is amaze!

Domaine Chandon

Domaine Chandon is #interiorspo heaven! This beautiful Yarra Valley winery partnered with interior design practice Foolscap Studio to overhaul their site and the end result is truly incredible – we are in love with the peach booths in the Tasting area, and the pink (Australian sourced) marble stone is *to die*.

Having only reopened late last year, Domaine Chandon is the perfect place to take your squad, treat yourself to a Sparkling tasting platter, then settle in for a long-lunch at their totally Instagrammable new space.
