A crowd of over 70,000 attended Emirates Stakes Day on Saturday at Flemington Racecourse, where I had the pleasure of judging Emirates Fashions on the Field ‘Family’ and ‘Junior Girls’ categories.
The Donovan family from Essendon claimed victory in the Family competition. Parents Stephen and Joanne, with children Anastasia and Jack were wearing coordinated pink, navy and white chevron print outfits. Mrs Donovan made her own skirt, along with her daughter’s dress and embellished her son’s hat with the same fabric.
Joelie Castricum took out the Junior Girls’ category, appropriately and stylishly dressed for her age group in a Bardot Junior leopard print dress with a black bow headpiece, also from Myer.

A big thank you to the Victoria Racing Club and Minc Events for inviting me along as a guest judge. Also a special thanks to Renault Australia and Soda Communications for our stylish ride on Stakes Day.
So wonderful to be part of the Melbourne Cup Carnival experience and looking forward to sharing in the excitement again next year.
